The Help Button
Terms & Conditions
Effective August 20, 2026
These terms apply when you use The Help Button website, schedule an appointment or receive services from The Help Button. By booking or accepting services, you agree to these terms.
Services
The Help Button provides patient, one-on-one help with everyday technology, including phones, computers, email, accounts, settings, photos, online safety and related devices or services. Support may be provided by phone, video, online or in person in the Yakima area. The exact scope of each session depends on the service booked, available time and the issue presented.
Appointments and 24-hour cancellation policy
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment. If an emergency or unavoidable situation occurs with less notice, contact Ericka as soon as possible. Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may affect the ability to schedule future sessions. The Help Button may reschedule an appointment when illness, safety, weather, travel or technical conditions make the session impractical.
Pricing, offers and payment
Current services, session lengths and prices are shown on the website or booking page. Payment is due at the time of service unless another arrangement is confirmed in writing. New clients receive $15 off their first completed session. Offers cannot be exchanged for cash and may not be combined unless stated otherwise. Additional time, parts, software, subscriptions, travel outside the ordinary service area or third-party services are not included unless clearly stated.
Customer responsibilities
You confirm that you own the device or account involved, or have permission from the owner to request help. You are responsible for maintaining current backups of important files and for providing accurate information. You should keep passwords and verification codes private and enter them yourself whenever possible.
Permission to access devices and accounts
You authorize The Help Button to access and adjust only the devices, settings, accounts or files reasonably necessary for the service you request. You may withdraw permission or stop the work at any time. Remote access, when used, will occur only with your knowledge and permission.
Backups, data and third-party services
Technology work can involve unexpected risks, including data loss, device failure, account lockout or changes caused by software and service providers. You are responsible for backing up important information before service. The Help Button is not responsible for the performance, availability, security, pricing or policies of manufacturers, internet providers, app companies, financial institutions or other third parties.
No guarantee of a particular result
We will provide services with reasonable care and explain available options clearly, but some problems cannot be fixed within one session or at all. Results may depend on the device’s condition, account access, internet service, software support and third-party systems. No specific result, recovery or future performance is guaranteed.
Online safety and emergencies
The Help Button may provide general education about scams, privacy and safer technology use, but does not provide legal, financial, medical, cybersecurity-forensics or emergency services. If money, identity theft, threats or immediate safety are involved, contact the appropriate bank, platform, law-enforcement agency or emergency service.
Respectful and safe service
Customers and service providers are entitled to a safe, respectful environment. The Help Button may end or refuse a session involving harassment, unsafe conditions, unlawful activity, requests to bypass security or access another person’s device or account without authorization.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Help Button is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of the website or services. Any direct liability relating to a paid session will not exceed the amount paid for that session. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
Privacy and changes
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. We may update these terms as services or legal requirements change. The effective date above will show the latest revision.
